Customer Reviews about Office Of Children Services:
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Corrupt.By Christina Konig, July 01, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I only gave one star because you have to press at least one to leave a review. They do not deserve that star. I am shocked that there is a system that is this corrupt regarding babies and children in the United States. It is devasting and heartbreaking that unhealthy people rip babies from loving parents due to heresay and no thorough investigation. Absolutely there are children in need of help in abusive situations. But their are MANY who are not and heresay is taken for truth, with no investigation. I was told by my lawer to just keep my mouth shut and play nice when my gut feeling was to stand up and speak the truth for my baby. I had never been involved with OCS and had a public defender that was inexperienced and unknowlagable of case laws regarding the rights of parents. I regret not standing up for what I believed was right due to fear of losing my baby forever. There are so many things OCS has done and is doing that violates the rights of the Constitution and are just p!ain sickening. Word needs to get out and people including myself need to file complaints, get the attention of legislators, call the Alaska Ombudsman and don't let OCS push you around, bully you and make you believe you are someone you are not. Do everything you can to prove to them you will do anything for your child. If you do everything they ask of you and they still deny you visits go back in front of the judge even if you have to file the motion yourself. Don't ever lose your temper, there are ways of getting your point across without showing them how you are feeling inside. If you feel like giving up because it seems that no matter what you do it doesn't change anything. DONT you will regret it but if you do- pick yourself up and keep fighting. There are alot of people who will treat you bad, act like it's not YOUR child and judge you on heresay. Just keep loving your child and pray all the time. I believe that everything comes to the light eventually and I will not give up on the horrific things my daughter and I have been through. Our case is closed but I don't want anyone else suffering and grieving for their child at the hands of someone who truly doesn't know what they are doing and the damage they are causing. Only a parent who has been through this kind of trauma knows what it feels like. You deal with grief, loss, depression, PTSD, feeling unheard and unworthy the list goes on and on. I asked OCS over and over for therapy or counciling and was blown off every time. My hope is that everyone starts speaking out and filing complaints, document everything because OCS is known to lie. I pray there is an investigation that reveals the dark secrets, lies and devastation and damage they have caused many families. They are not their own government and I am in the process of finding out who they answer to outside the supervisors at the office where this is taken place. If strangers are going to take infants and children of all ages from their families don't you think there better be some guidelines and rules of investigations put in place and utilized EVERYTIME? Some people get power hungry and think they can do whatever they want right or wrong. These people need to be held accountable for not following guidelines, not conducting thorough investigations and covering up for each other's horrible decisions. I apologize for this being so long but it's only the very tip of tip of the iceburg. I know there are other parents going through this over heresay. Let's keep standing up for our rights as parents and exposing OCS so one day changes start happening and children stop suffering unnecessary trauma. For God's sake they don't have to tear families apart there are such things as parenting classes, home visits, counciling etc.etc. for some family problems that would be much more affective than ripping children out of their home. There's no such thing as a perfect family and sometimes families may just need some positive support. Has anyone at OCS thought if that? It would be a step in the right direction.By Carrie Harvey, April 04, 2017
